Bowmanville Street Sale

The Bowmanville Street Sale

June 1, 2019

The Bowmanville Community Organization (BCO) sponsors this annual community wide garage/yard/street sale.

Once your spring cleaning is done, join over 100 Bowmanville households in one of the largest and most vibrant street sales in Chicago! On your sidewalk, in your yard, or in your garage, invite the city to help clear out the items you don’t need anymore!

The annual Bowmanville Street Sale is held on the first Saturday of June each year. An afterparty is held at Leadway Bar and Grill for the sellers and volunteers who participate.

To register online for the upcoming street sale please click here and choose the Street Sale payment option on the BCO Online Payment page.

If you prefer to print and hand deliver a hard copy of the application please click here for an application form that you can print and drop off.

How much does it cost?

$10.00 for BCO Members

$15.00 for Non- Members (join the BCO when you register and take advantage of the discount)

These nominal fees help to cover the cost of materials and advertising and support the work of the community volunteers who help to make the event a success. To get word out, the BCO will leverage social media, as well as place ads in various publications.

Volunteers Needed!

Please consider volunteering a small amount of time to assist neighbor Laura Schmidt in organizing the Street Sale this year. She could use some help with putting together and distributing packets and posting signs. To volunteer, please email:
email the Events Committee

Who can sell?

All residents living in the BCO Boundaries (Foster to Bowmanville, and Ravenswood to Western Avenue) are invited to participate in the annual Street Sale.

Do I need a permit?

The BCO works with Alderman Vasquez to get a special PERMIT to cover EVERYONE who will be participating in the street sale. PLEASE NOTE this permit only authorizes sales under the umbrella of the BCO. The city of Chicago requires an individual permit for all garage/yard sales. In order to be protected under this BCO sponsored permit with the city, you must register for the BCO Street Sale.

Prior to the sale you will receive a kit that includes several copies of the map of Street Sale participants (to hand out during the sale), and a copy of the approved permit.

We are looking forward to a fantastic day! See you there.
